About
Stacey Dart
I specialise in providing tailored therapy for young people and adults. My approach uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), with compassion-based techniques to address your unique challenges. I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. My experience includes working with anxiety (including OCD), low mood, trauma, neurodiversity, and eating difficulties. I strive to empower my clients on their journey to mental well-being.
I started working with children and adolescents early in my career in the NHS. I trained in CBT whilst in CAMHS and I quickly realised how powerful therapy is when it is accessed at the right time. For over sixteen years I worked with children's mental health which was incredibly rewarding as well as working alongside schools and services to support children, young people and their families. I have been and continue working with adults in the NHS, supporting them with their needs in some very difficult circumstances. However following their journeys has been important for me to help build, strengthen and empower them to take the necessary steps to engage back into their lives. It is important to me that therapy is available to those that need it, and most importantly when they need it. Having experienced working with people in all stages of life (including transitions from children's to adult services), I know how important it is to help people with their mood and anxiety needs and process trauma in different ways. I am able to provide a variety of options for people who have experienced trauma, whether that has been a single event or more complex family trauma, and work collaboratively to ensure the therapy offered helps the best it can.
I still remain committed to working in the NHS, but I am also aware of the long waiting lists and endless battles to access therapy for people who may fall in the gaps between services. I want to help people to access the right therapy at the right time. If any of this sounds familiar or true, why not reach out and contact me for an initial free consultation.

Experience
Professional Background
With extensive experience in the field, I have been an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the BABCP since 2015 and began offering EMDR therapy in 2025. I have worked in the NHS for over 20 years, specialising in therapy for young people and adults. My role has also extended to training other therapists in CBT at the University of Exeter, further enhancing the quality of care provided in our community.
I have always worked within the Psychology field throughout my career, from my first qualification in Psychology (BSc Hons), working in forensics, to working with brain injury rehabilitation, individuals with additional needs and eating disorders. My experience is varied but my passion is with those who struggle with anxiety, low mood and trauma. Having gained ongoing professional development training throughout my career and my desire to continue to learn and build on my knowledge and skills in psychological perspectives, I remain committed to further learning and understanding about the human mind and how it processes.
